Roy Park

Roy J. Park founded Park|Guenthart in 2011 with a simple idea: there had to be a better way to practice workers’ compensation defense.

What started as a one-attorney practice has since grown into a firm of more than 40 attorneys representing employers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators throughout California. The firm has changed considerably along the way. Roy’s approach to the business of law has not. He believes good lawyers know the law. Great lawyers understand their clients.

For Roy, that means looking beyond the individual claim to understand the business behind it—how decisions affect costs, operations, relationships, and the larger portfolio. It also means recognizing that how legal services are delivered matters just as much as the legal work itself.

That philosophy has guided the growth of P|G. Rather than simply building a bigger law firm, Roy has focused on building a better one: bringing together smart people, creating a strong culture, investing in technology and systems, and questioning traditions that no longer make sense simply because “that’s how law firms have always done it.”

Today, Roy focuses much of his time on the strategic direction of P|G, key client relationships, firm culture, and finding new ways to improve how the firm works. He has a particular interest in technology and the evolving role of AI in legal practice, not for technology’s sake, but for its potential to help attorneys work smarter and deliver better service to clients.

His background in business, design, and entrepreneurship continues to influence that perspective and his tendency to approach problems a little differently.

More than 15 years later, the idea behind P|G remains remarkably simple: know your clients, do great work, and keep finding better ways to do it.

Roy earned his B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Irvine and his J.D. from the University of California, Davis, King Hall School of Law.
